Improving the performance of Lantre online store

Über
Development of an online store with a focus on optimization and increased efficiency. The result? A modern platform that meets the needs of today's consumers.
Challenge
Lantre | Apple Authorized Reseller - a well-known electronics retailer brand, came to Strix after its cooperation with the previous agency ended - disappointed with the quality of technology support. The store was already running on the Magento platform at the time, but its potential remained untapped: performance was low, development was stunted, and many areas needed urgent optimization.
Strix took over the existing system and began to improve, develop and expand it in stages. As the project gained momentum, new needs and challenges emerged - both technological and operational:
- inefficiencies in returns management (RMA),
- The need to digitize trade processes (including the exchange of equipment - so-called Trade In Online),
- Product volume spikes associated with launches,
- The need to improve SEO and site performance metrics,
- The need for flexible support for dynamic campaigns, such as the Daily Deal.
The biggest crisis, however, was a server incident in which, as a result of an error by the hosting provider, the Lantre store... disappeared. A key sales channel stopped working overnight.
Solution
The cooperation began with an audit and a thorough recognition of the existing condition. The first step was to take over the store without interfering with its operation. Then, in stages, the Strix team began to improve key elements of the system and implement new functionalities.
Key Activities:
- In-depth performance optimization - from the beginning of the cooperation, a series of activities to improve the performance of the site was conducted. Many areas affecting the speed and stability of the site were analyzed, especially in the context of mobile devices. One of the key steps was replacing the outdated product gallery (Fotorama) with a modern, lightweight FancyBox solution, which significantly reduced the CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) index.
Combined with other optimizations (including improved resource loading, code cleanup, mobile adjustments), these actions translated into a marked improvement in Core Web Vitals indicators, regained positions in Google, and promoted mobile links to "good quality" status.
- Digitalization of processes - implementation of a system for handling returns (RMA), integration with the government's "Laptop for Teacher" program (which enabled customers to instantly verify codes and complete purchases with funding - conveniently, securely and fully online), expansion of the product configurator and the Trade In Online system (a unique solution that allows customers to return old equipment and immediately receive a discount on a new purchase).
- Development of sales functionalities - the most important of these was the Daily Deal mechanism - a dynamic functionality that allows to create time-limited special offers with a limit of pieces, without the need for classic promotions. This allows Lantre to effectively manage margins and product interest without overpricing.
- SEO and content - the development of a blog and the creation of a glossary - which, through thoughtful linking and optimization for Google, generates additional organic traffic and increases brand visibility.
- Rebuilding the store in 52 hours - as a result of an error by the hosting provider, the Lantre store suddenly went offline. Strix responded immediately - within a few business days, the team rebuilt the site from scratch, restoring all key functionality, including purchasing processes, integrations and business logic.
Thanks to the commitment, it was possible to minimize sales losses and avoid an image crisis. Subsequent actions allowed the environment to fully recover and move to more stable resources.
A key aspect of the collaboration was the openness and partnership approach. The Lantre and Strix teams worked in partnership from the very beginning, developing solutions together, which Strix adapted and implemented production-wise.
"It has been and continues to be a very collaborative relationship. Lantre is an informed team with initiative - they come with thoughtful ideas, and we help refine and implement them so that they work stably and efficiently. From performance optimization to new functionality, together we build something that realistically supports their business." says Weronika Radlińska - Project Manager at Strix
Results
The cooperation has evolved into a long-term relationship based on trust, open communication and joint search for the best solutions. Rather than a technological revolution, the focus has been on systematically improving the existing Magento platform, demonstrating how consistent optimization can realistically translate into improved performance, increased visibility on Google and a better shopping experience for users.
Key effects:
- Stable, optimized service - noticeable improvement in performance indicators and positions in Google.
- Quick response to a crisis - save sales and brand image with immediate store restoration.
- New features to increase sales - including Trade In Online, Daily Deal, product configurators, managed product carousels and product sets.
- Operational efficiency - automated returns process, better catalog and inventory management.
- Prospective cooperation - joint planning of next steps: marketplace integrations, cross-border, further UX improvements.
