Smølke accelerates brand impact with a scalable Shopware architecture

About

Smølke, part of Premium Petfood Brands, aims to strengthen its digital brand position and accelerate growth. Since its sister brand Yarrah was already thriving on Shopware, the choice of platform was clear. Following a focused discovery phase, the decision was made to build upon Yarrah’s solid foundation. We created a scalable core that offers complete brand freedom, independent content management, and room for future data-driven development.

Challenge

One platform, two brands, two distinct identities

Smølke focuses primarily on B2C, viewing its website as a brand platform to inspire and inform consumers, especially since purchases are often still made in physical pet stores. The challenge went beyond simple e-commerce: how do we ensure Smølke stays top-of-mind across all touchpoints in the customer journey?

Simultaneously, the Smølke team needed to remain digitally agile. The ability to manage content without technical dependencies was high on the priority list. With Yarrah as the existing blueprint, the key question arose: how can we build efficiently without compromising brand identity?

Solution

Parent-child architecture for a scalable brand rollout

When Smølke expressed its ambition to expand its digital presence, its sister brand Yarrah was already thriving on Shopware. Shopware offers the flexibility to seamlessly blend commerce and brand experience, ideal for a brand looking to merge storytelling and conversion.

We initiated a discovery phase focused on insight: what technical assets were already in place, what could be further developed, and how could we ensure Smølke hit the ground running? Based on this analysis, we implemented a parent-child setup: one technical foundation, two completely unique brand experiences. While Smølke and Yarrah share the same underlying theme, they maintain their own visual identities, content structures, and tones of voice. For the back end, this means maximum efficiency and manageability; for the front end, it means total freedom and brand expression.

Results

One platform, two brands, ready for the next phase of growth

Thanks to the shared Shopware architecture, the Smølke and Yarrah teams can now independently manage content blocks and launch campaigns without technical barriers. The parent-child structure ensures that new features or optimizations are developed once but are immediately scalable across multiple brands.

Simultaneously, we are working with Smølke on the next step: shifting toward data-driven decision-making rather than assumptions. Using Shopware as a flexible foundation, we are building a roadmap that highlights growth opportunities, from brand impact and conversion goals to omnichannel activation.
