Challenge

An outdated platform was holding back growth and flexibility

Voordeelgordijnen, a family business with locations in the Netherlands and Belgium, was hitting the limits of their old all-in-one platform. Adjusting the webshop was complex and time-consuming, preventing the team from responding quickly enough to changing customer needs or growth ambitions.

With a clear vision for international expansion, there was a need for a flexible, scalable platform that supports both their B2C focus and complex processes, such as made-to-measure curtains and integrations with suppliers and logistics partners.

Solution

A custom Shopify Plus solution with powerful integrations

Strix developed a new webshop on Shopify Plus, fully tailored to the needs of Voordeelgordijnen:

  • Custom configurator: a native, fully bespoke tool that allows visitors to configure their curtains down to the last detail. All calculations for dimensions, fabrics and pleats are handled automatically, without third-party apps.
  • Smart integrations: connections with warehouses, suppliers and logistics partners such as NE DistriService, enabling faster and error-free order processing.
  • Efficient management: thanks to a price list integration, Voordeelgordijnen can continue working with their own Excel sheets, which automatically sync with Shopify.
  • Localisation and growth: prepared for international expansion with multilingual content and easy market management tools via Shopify Markets.

With a clean design that aligns with Voordeelgordijnen's brand identity, accessible, clear and promotional, the webshop perfectly meets the expectations of their B2C customers.

Results

Faster processes and ready for international growth

The webshop successfully launched in Belgium first, after which the Dutch webshop was launched with full confidence. The new platform delivers efficiency and scalability:

  • The configurator makes it possible to manage thousands of products and six main templates in a fully automated way.
  • Pricing is always accurate and can be adjusted directly by the team itself.
  • Manual processes, such as fabric samples and order processing, have been significantly simplified and partially automated.
  • The webshop is ready for a phased international rollout, starting with Belgium as a test market.

Voordeelgordijnen now has a webshop that grows alongside their ambitions and offers customers a user-friendly, personalised experience. In future phases, we will focus on automation, machine learning and process optimisation to drive efficiency even further.

With this new foundation, Voordeelgordijnen is ready to continue growing their family business, both nationally and internationally, with a webshop that is no longer a brake on their ambitions, but an accelerator.
