BENEFITS

What a solid commerce foundation means for your B2B business

Fewer technical dependencies

More Shopware standard and a clearly structured system landscape reduce custom solutions and, with them, maintenance effort. Your commerce platform runs more reliably and is easier to scale.

Faster development

When processes and systems rest on a solid foundation, new features, markets and digital services can be delivered faster. Your commerce platform stays agile as your business evolves.

Greater planning certainty

A cleanly set-up platform and clearly defined interfaces make dependencies and potential pitfalls transparent. Effort, next steps and necessary decisions become visible earlier, so operations and future projects are easier to manage.

Shopware as part of your architecture

Your systems. One commerce platform.

A good Shopware commerce platform integrates with ERP, PIM, CRM, WMS, payment and other systems, creating end-to-end processes.

What our clients say

SHOPWARE B2B

B2B Suite or B2B Components? Which fits your business model?

Shopware offers two options for B2B: the comprehensive B2B Suite and the individual B2B Components. Which one makes sense for you depends on your business processes, requirements and existing system landscape.

B2B Suite

For established B2B processes and complex organisational structures

The B2B Suite suits companies whose B2B business is already shaped by fixed processes, roles and structures. It covers core requirements such as company accounts, roles and permissions, approvals, customer-specific pricing and other B2B processes in one comprehensive solution.

B2B Components

For building up B2B commerce step by step

The B2B Components are the right choice if you need individual B2B features first or want to build up B2B processes gradually. This lets you extend your commerce solution with exactly the features you need, without creating too much complexity or unnecessary costs at once.

What's changing

Your B2B processes have grown. Has your commerce platform?

As digital B2B commerce becomes more important to your business, the sales platform often gets left behind. We know the typical challenges well:

Custom development becomes a brake

What was once tailored exactly to your requirements becomes harder to maintain and develop over the years. Even minor changes quickly create a lot of work. Critical knowledge sits with a few people, who may no longer even be with the company.

B2B sales need to go digital

Orders come in by email, phone or through field sales. Many tasks have to be handled manually. At the same time, customers expect to access and manage information, prices and orders digitally, regardless of business hours.

The current platform doesn't scale

As your business grows, so does complexity: more customers, more products, new markets. Your current system simply wasn't built for this. What used to work becomes the limiting factor. The gap between effort and value keeps widening, and scaling becomes almost impossible.

What it can become

Shopware x Strix: Three paths to a future-proof B2B platform

Whether your current platform is reaching its limits, your B2B sales are ready to go digital or your commerce solution finally needs to keep pace with your company's growth: Shopware provides the foundation for a modern B2B solution. We connect it with your processes and systems.

Replatforming

Out of outdated custom development, into a modern commerce platform.
‍

We migrate your existing solution, whether in-house development, Shopware 5 or another legacy platform, to Shopware 6. This reduces maintenance effort and enables your team to manage content and processes themselves, without relying on external developers for every change. The result is a platform that can grow with your requirements.

New digital B2B sales

Create digital processes where email, phone or field sales are still doing the work today.

We build portals and digital sales channels for wholesalers, manufacturers and distributors. Your customers can place orders on their own at any time and look up key information and prices. At the same time, your sales team is freed from manual tasks and has more time for what matters most: building relationships, advising and looking after customers personally.

Optimisation & expansion

When your platform is already in place but reaches its limits as you grow and new requirements emerge.

We improve your platform's performance, optimise its architecture and modernise existing integrations. We connect Shopware with ERP, PIM, CRM or other systems so that data and processes flow between them automatically. Manual transfers and unnecessary steps disappear, while you extend your Shopware solution with new B2B processes.

HOW WE APPROCH IT

Turning complex requirements into the right solution

Complex B2B projects can't be solved with a standard recipe. That's why we first analyse your requirements, processes and system landscape, question existing solutions and develop a realistic path to your goal. The principle: don't do everything at once, but make the right decisions at the right time.

1. Understand requirements and processes

What should the new solution achieve, and for whom? We analyse user groups, business rules, existing processes, platforms and project goals. What matters most is that we develop a deep understanding of how your business works. Only then can we build a shared picture of what your new commerce solution needs to deliver.

2. Review the system landscape and risks

Shopware is rarely a standalone system. That's why we look at ERP, PIM, CRM, middleware and other architecture components and their interfaces, as well as data quality, performance and existing dependencies. This lets us spot technical or organisational risks early.

3. Challenge requirements

Not every existing process has to be carried over one to one. We distinguish between what Shopware already does out of the box, what needs custom development and what you might be able to do without. This keeps the solution lean, ensures a healthy cost-benefit ratio and avoids unnecessary complexity.

4. Split the project into manageable steps

Large projects shouldn't be delivered as one big block. We structure migration, integrations, new features and testing into sensible steps. We validate key assumptions early and can respond to new insights before they turn into costly changes.

5. Build a reliable roadmap

Requirements, system analyses and priorities come together in a concrete plan: what will be delivered, in what scope, with which team and within what time and budget? You get a realistic basis for decisions, not a rough estimate that quickly loses its validity once the project starts.
UNDER THE HOOD

Shopware doesn't work in isolation. Neither does a system landscape.

The real complexity of a B2B project often lies not in the shop itself, but in how it works with ERP, PIM, CRM, WMS and many other systems. That's why we analyse data flows and dependencies before writing the first line of code, build the right interfaces and implement the entire architecture.

In a good architecture, Shopware forms the commerce layer. ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics, PIM solutions such as Pimcore and other systems provide the data and functions your business needs. We connect all systems so that information flows reliably and many processes run automatically.

UNDER THE HOOD

Lots of data, fast processes

Simply connecting the systems isn't enough. How data flows between them matters just as much. If Shopware has to pull unnecessary amounts of information from the ERP with every request, complex pricing logic, large data volumes and many parallel requests can quickly slow performance down.

That's why we analyse which information Shopware should get directly from the ERP, which data can be synchronised in advance and where information can be cached or otherwise served efficiently. Depending on the requirements, we use caching, middleware or external services.

This keeps the commerce platform fast even with demanding B2B processes, and the ERP is only called on where current business data is actually needed.

UNDER THE HOOD

Don't digitalise everything

Just because a process can be digitalised doesn't mean it should be. In B2B in particular, there are often individual price agreements, special terms and exceptions that have grown over the years. Technically, we could build even the rarest special rule into the shop, but the question is always whether it makes economic sense.

That's why we raise these points openly and look for a solution that is proportionate to the actual benefit. If an exception affects only a single customer, it isn't worth investing five weeks of development time in automating it. Better to put your budget into the features that really move your business forward.
