Olini is a brand known for its natural products, freshly pressed oils, and dietary supplements, committed from the start to quality and an authentic approach to health. Behind this image stands a dedicated team that has consistently built the brand's strength. Context: A distinctive brand in need of a solid technological foundation

Before partnering with Strix, Olini's online sales were conducted via the Shoper platform – a solution suitable for the brand’s early growth, but insufficient for its evolving needs. As the product offering expanded and plans for international expansion emerged, it became clear that a technological upgrade was necessary. Just as important, however, was the goal of enhancing the customer experience. The new store needed not only to support Olini’s growth but also to simplify customers’ daily decisions and make healthy living more accessible.

That’s why Olini chose Shopware – a flexible platform that enables the fusion of modern technology with user needs, through features like subscription management and a clear, mobile-friendly interface.

The initial phase of the project – delivered by another partner – did not fully reflect the Olini team’s vision. A new approach was needed, one that would bring stability and alignment with both brand and customer expectations.

At that point, Olini turned to Strix – with a need to restructure the project, bring it to completion, and create a strong foundation for future growth.

Challenges

When the collaboration with Olini began, the project was in a transitional phase – the Polish version of the store was still running on Shoper, while the Shopware implementation had begun but required refinement and reorganization. A lack of comprehensive documentation and inconsistencies in the code presented additional challenges.

Key challenges included:

  • Continuing work already in progress despite limited documentation
  • Implementing a subscription-based sales model in the Polish market – a crucial part of Olini's strategy
  • Delivering essential features for multilingual support and adapting to the specifics of foreign markets
  • Refreshing the visual layer of the store while maintaining consistency with the existing brand communication
  • Adapting to legal requirements in various countries (e.g., restrictions on supplement sales)

A critical aspect was delivering the highest quality mobile experience. Since mobile is the primary point of contact between customers and the Olini brand, a mobile-first approach was adopted from the design phase. This meant not just adjusting the interface to smaller screens, but also prioritizing fast load times, intuitive navigation, and smooth shopping flows. The mobile user experience was treated as the starting point – directly influencing both design and technical decisions.

Based on Shopware, we built a modular e-commerce environment that allows for independent management of local markets (Poland, Romania) and further scaling. Key implementations included:

  • Integration with a subscription mechanism
  • Dynamic product restrictions based on country-specific regulations
  • Mobile version optimization focused on UX and conversions

Strengthening SEO with a content-first approach

In collaboration with Olini’s SEO team, we implemented a range of solutions to boost organic visibility:
