Challenge

From fragmented data to a scalable digital foundation

Decor Walther operates with a broad and sophisticated product range of approximately 3,500 SKUs. Historically, the company has been strongly B2B-oriented, serving hotels and interior designers with premium products. However, their digital landscape no longer matched their ambitions.

Product data quality was inconsistent, information was scattered across multiple systems, and there was no single, unified data structure. At the same time, the existing webshop was outdated and not designed to support modern B2B expectations such as self-service, role-based access, or customer-specific pricing.

In parallel, Decor Walther wanted to expand into B2C sales, without duplicating processes, stock, or product portfolios. The challenge was clear: create a scalable digital foundation that could support both B2B and B2C, without increasing operational complexity.

Solution

A unified Shopify Plus platform for B2B and B2C

The solution is a unified B2B/B2C webshop built on Shopify Plus, now live. This setup allows Decor Walther to manage a single product catalog and shared inventory while serving different customer types through one platform.

The new store is designed to significantly improve the B2B digital experience. Business customers will be able to operate largely in self-service, with features such as customer-specific pricing, quantity-based discounts, and clearly defined employee roles and permissions within their accounts. This reduces manual handling while giving professional buyers more control and transparency.

Strix is responsible for both design and development, including wireframes, visual design, and the technical implementation. A key differentiator of this project is the custom storefront combined with custom ERP interfaces connected to My Factory, ensuring that data flows correctly and consistently between systems.

Results

Ready for growth across channels and markets

The platform is now live and already provides a strong foundation for future growth. Decor Walther operates on a single, coherent commerce environment that supports both B2B and B2C sales without duplicating effort or data.

Phase one of the rollout focuses on the DACH region, with the architecture prepared for future multi-market expansion. Decisions around additional countries and currencies will follow after launch, based on insights gained during the initial phase.

For Strix, this project represents a new and comprehensive B2B/B2C implementation, combining complex requirements into one scalable solution. For Decor Walther, it marks an important step towards a modern, data-driven commerce strategy that aligns with both their premium brand and long-term growth ambitions.
